Free skateboard lessons by Plank Eye Skate Shop

Did you know that Bayne Park has a skate park? And that Bellevue has a skate shop?

We are thrilled to announce that Brian Buck from Plank Eye Board Shop is generously offering to bring FREE skateboard demonstrations and lessons to the community during our market hours!

One hour beginner group skateboard lessons will be held from 5:45-6:45 PM starting June 28th each Wednesday through the end of July at the Bellevue Skate Plaza during the farmers market.

These lessons will cover basic terminology, riding stances, board control, how to ollie, other fun flip tricks, and even a few stalls and grinds. Participants are required to follow skate-park rules and sign a waiver (parents must sign for under 18).

Skateboards are not provided, but can be built for nearly any price from used components at the shop. Brian advises spending at least $40 for anything worth riding. Stop in and see him at 11 Sheridan Ave in Bellevue to answer any questions or to pick up some gear for your lesson.

The Plank Eye Board Shop opened in July of 2008 and has grown to offer clothing, pants, and shoes as well as several Pittsburgh-based brands of both clothing and skateboards.

They were an early advocate for the skate plaza at Bayne Park and are so excited that it’s almost complete, they’re ready to help us show it off and share their love of skating with the community!
